The short answer
Installation cost depends on the selected equipment and the site work required, not just the number of rooms. Pipe routes, electrical supply, drainage, access and commissioning can materially change a quote. Compare like-for-like written scopes and confirm whether prices include VAT.

Equipment and capacity
A single wall-mounted split, a multi-split serving several rooms and a commercial VRF system are different projects. Ask for exact model references and the design assumptions behind the proposed capacity. Higher capacity is not automatically a better fit.
Site-work variables
A short, accessible pipe run is different from a route through occupied areas or difficult elevations. Tell the contractor about working-hour restrictions and whether access equipment is needed.
- Pipework length, insulation, containment and penetrations.
- Drainage routes and any condensate-pump requirements.
- Electrical supply changes and specialist access.
- Removal, disposal and making good after installation.
Compare exclusions before accepting
Request a breakdown of equipment, labour and other work. Check VAT, delivery, commissioning, warranty terms and whether a maintenance agreement is optional. Identify provisional items and ask how changes will be authorised and charged. A low headline quote can exclude necessary site work.
Why this guide does not promise a fixed price
There is no confirmed site survey or supplier offer for your project here. HVACX catalogue guide prices are not installed prices. Obtain quotes against the same scope and ask the selected contractor to confirm the final amount and terms before work begins.
Related questions
Can I compare an equipment price with an installed quote?
Not directly. Check whether delivery, pipework, drainage, electrical work, labour, VAT and commissioning are included in each figure.
Can planning or access requirements increase costs?
They can change the work and professional input needed. Confirm address-specific permissions and access restrictions early, before treating a quotation as final.
